George Guzzi

George Guzzi

Graduate, Tufts College, 1956; Art Institute of Boston, 1959.  Member of faculty, Art Institute of Boston, 1959 - 1964.  He has traveled to Panama, England, Spain, Italy, Germany and the United States as a guest of the United States Air Force and the Department of Military History for various documentary painting projects and contributions to the U.S. Air Force Art Collection in Washington, D.C. and Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He has documented five lift-offs and landings of the space shuttle for NASA and documented astronaut training at Johnson Space Center.

His bold knife work and intense colors have lent themselves to a variety of subjects, which include fishing villages of Southern Europe, Maine coastal scenes, sports events and figures and aviation.  Each has a casual literalness which imparts to the viewer the excitement felt by the artist in creating his works.
